The schedule for the regular season of 2023-24 has been released, as shown in the image below.
NEW YORK (June 27, 2023) – The NHL (National Hockey League) has revealed the schedule for the 2023-24 regular season set to begin on Tuesday Oct. 10. The first game of the season will feature a tripleheader on ESPN with the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Seattle Kraken at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Golden Knights will also have the honor of raising their first Stanley Cup championship banner at T-Mobile Arena before the game.
On October 10th there will be two other matches taking place. The Nashville Predators will face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 5:30 p.m. ET followed by the Chicago Blackhawks taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 8 p.m. ET.
On Wednesday, October 11, TNT will kick off its season with two back to back games. The first game will be the Chicago Blackhawks taking on the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by the Los Angeles Kings hosting the Colorado Avalanche at 10 p.m. ET.
On Wednesday October 11, all seven Canadian teams will be playing. This includes the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames hosting the Winnipeg Jets at 10 p.m. ET and the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Edmonton Oilers at 10 p.m. ET. These four games will all be aired on Sportsnet.
The regular season for the 2023-24 schedule consisting of 1,312 games with 82 games per team will end on April 18th. The full schedule for each team can be found in the attached list while the home opener for each team is listed below.

Notable Dates for the 2023-24 NHL Regular Season Schedule
The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames will play outdoors at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton on Sunday Oct. 29 for the 2023 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™. This event will take place at the home of the CFLs Edmonton Elks and will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the inaugural NHL regular season outdoor game.
The 2023 NHL Global Series will feature four teams Sweden who will compete in regular season games held in Stockholm. The teams participating in this series are the Detroit Red Wings Minnesota Wild Ottawa Senators and toronto maple leafs who will play four regular season games at Avicii Arena from Nov. 16-19. These matches will bring the total number of NHL regular season games played in Stockholm to 16 making it the city with the most games hosted outside of North America.
On December 23 the florida panthers will face off against the Golden Knights in a rematch of the 2023 Stanley Cup® Final. The two teams will also play each other again on January 4 with Vegas hosting the game.
The 2024 Discover NHL Winter Classic® will take place on Monday Jan. 1 featuring the Kraken and Golden Knights in an outdoor game at T-Mobile Park home of the MLBs Seattle Mariners in Seattle. This game will continue the Leagues tradition of starting the new year with a regular season outdoor game which has been ongoing since 2008.
On January 20th, Canadian hockey fans will celebrate Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, with all seven of the countrys teams playing on the same day.
The regular season schedule of the League will take a break from February 1-4 as the best players from around the world come together in Toronto for the NHL All Star Weekend at Scotiabank Arena. This event will feature the 2024 NHL All-Star Skills™ presented by DraftKings and the 2024 Honda (U.S.) / Rogers (Canada) NHL All-Star Game.
The upcoming 2024 NHL Stadium Series™ by Navy Federal Credit Union is scheduled for Feb. 17-18 and will be held at MetLife Stadium which is also the home of NFL teams New York Jets and New York Football Giants. This event will showcase two NHL regular season outdoor games involving four teams Philadelphia Flyers New Jersey Devils New York Rangers and New York Islanders. The first game on Feb. 17 will see the Flyers playing against the devils while on Feb. 18 the Rangers will take on the Islanders.
The regular season for 2023-24 is set to end on Thursday, April 18th.
The 2023-24 season will see the NHL partnering with ESPN turner sports sportsnet and TVA sports as their national broadcast partners offering extensive coverage throughout the season. Further information on the broadcast schedule will be disclosed at a later date.
